I always had the feeling that freak-folk survivor Jana Hunter had a bit more to her than a lazy genre classification, and this latest from her ‘full band’ Lower Dens, simply goes to prove that point perfectly. Expanding her sound from solo jangle to something altogether more widescreen sounds almost effortless, and Hunter sounds totally at ease with her quirky vocals sandwiched between.
